The Village

Wateringbury village is a small village near the town of Maidstone in Kent, England. The Wateringbury Stream flows into the River Medway just above Bow Bridge. It formerly powered three watermills in the village, one of which still exists today. Wateringbury's railway station is on the Medway Valley Line.

The village is one of a chain of Upper Medway Valley villages where the river is very much part of everday life. From Allington Lock, below Maidstone, to Tonbridge, the river is well used all summer by holiday cruisers and the riverside at Wateringbury is always lined with them.
